Bela-Bela cultural dance trio wins R10 000 from Showville

The Melodi Ya Dithaga song and dance trio emerged winners of the Bela-Bela leg of the SABC2 Showville Variety Talent roadshow.

The Melodi Ya Dithaga song and dance trio emerged winners of the Bela-Bela leg of the SABC2 Showville Variety Talent roadshow.

The dance-cum-singing ensemble won itself R10 000 prizemoney during the contest held at the local Forever Resorts on Saturaday 14 July.

Melodi Ya Dithakga were billed to be flighted on national TV at the end of the competition covering municipalities across the length and breadth of the Limpopo province, scheduled to be rounded up on Thursday 30 August.

The trio is made up of Ramabele Mabuela, Lydia Mojela and Moletjie Setshedi, all hailing from Bela-Bela.

Four days were set aside for the contest in Bela-Bela, from 11 July to 14 July.

Programme director for the event, the multi-talented actor-cum-dancer, Loorcia Cooper, conceded it had been a challenge to identify the top four performances for the Bela-Bela leg of the
roadshow.

Three other performers in the top four were the duo Lucky Dladla guitarist and songbird Palesa Tholwane, singer Naydene Koover, and Character Dance Group.
