Battle lines drawn in Vaalwater

The Modimolle-Mookgophong Mayor’s Cup knockout fixtures are set to continue this forthcoming weekend in Vaalwater, with a total of five teams expected to participate in the elimination rounds.

The Modimolle-Mookgophong Mayor’s Cup knockout fixtures are set to continue this forthcoming weekend in Vaalwater, with a total of five teams expected to participate in the elimination rounds.

The head-to-head will take place at the Tigers Sports Grounds in Vaalwater on Saturday 21 July.

Vaalwater Makweti FC will lock horns with Vaalwater Legend 45 FC, in the first match of the day.

The fixture between the two teams will be played as a rematch, after it was previously abandoned due to poor lighting.

In the second match, Vaalwater Motherwell FC will take on Boschdraai Seven Stars FC.

Welgevonden FC, which was drawn as a bye, will square off with either Makweti FC or Legend 45 FC (winner of the rematch).

Two teams from this round will advance to the last eight stages of the competition, scheduled for Modimolle, with the date of which would be decided upon at the end of the elimination rounds of the Mayors’s Cup.

Last week Mookgophong Junior Stars FC and Naboom Chiefs registered their names in the all-important stages of the tournament.

In Modimolle, Happy Boys FC and Modimolle Masters FC have also confirmed their place in the Mayor’s Cup, while Alma will be represented byFirefighters FC.
