• In another incident, two gr. 4 schoolgirls were hit by a vehicle on Monday 3 June, shortly after 13:00. The girls, on the way to their nearby home from Eenheid Primary School, were hit by an oncoming car when crossing the road.

According to those on the scene, a state ambulance was not available and Life 24 and local paramedic Wim Wagner assisted. The girls were taken to the FH Odendaal Hospital, but only sustained light injuries to their heads and were not kept overnight.
