Phala Phala accused back in court

The Bela-Bela Magistrate Court has postponed the case of the three accused in the burglary at President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala farm to 26 April.

Froliana Joseph, David Joseph, and Imanuwela David appeared in the court on Friday, morning, 23 February.

The state requested for the postponement. According to Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi, spokesperson for Limpopo NPA, the request is being made for the finalization of further investigations.

Imanuwela David and Froliana Joseph. together with David Joseph, brother of Froliana Joseph (not in photo), were arrested in 2023 and charged with money laundering.

Senior state advocate, Nkhetheni Munyai, asked that the case be postponed so that further investigations can be carried out that include third parties.

He also mentioned that more suspects are currently out of the country. The Joseph siblings and David were arrested in 2023 with three charges of break-in and theft. David is also charged with money laundering. The Joseph siblings received bail on 10 November last year, while David’s application for bail was denied on 8 December.  He will remain in police custody.
