Facelift for community hall

The Leseding Community Hall, a gathering place for residents in Vaalwater has been renewed and is once again a centre of opportunity.

According to Marlene van Staden, Mayor of the Modimolle-Mookgophong Municipality, the work was sorely needed as the hall was in a shockingly bad state for more than a decade. The refurbishment included the fixing of the roof, ceiling, bathrooms, kitchen, walls, windows and doors. New furniture was also bought.

Local businesses and families combined resources to solve the problem.

“My sincere thanks to Shambala Game Reserve, the EMS Foundation, as well as the Steyn family for their incredible contribution to our community. I really appreciate it,” Van Staden said.

She also thanked the two ward councillors, Khalimi Moima and Simon Motsomane.

Van Staden encouraged the community to take care of the hall as it is to the benefit of the community. Bookings for events can be made through the municipality.
