Covid-19: Lockdown finally over
On April 4 President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced that the Covid-19 lockdown is finally coming to an end, more than 750 days after the start of the State of Disaster.

The following transitional measures will lapse after 30 days:
- We will still be required to wear a face mask in indoor spaces.
- Existing restrictions on gatherings will continue in a transitional manner.
- Existing provisions with respect to international travel will remain in place.
- Directions providing for the payment of the R350 SRD grant will remain in place.
- Directions that provide for the extension of the validity of driving permits will remain in place. All other disaster regulations has fallen away at midnight on April 4.
