Class of 2020 excited over good matric results

The excitement over the Grade 12 results of 2020 is still continuing, and learners have been praised for their ability to rise above what some would call “the most challenging year in the history of education”.

The Post spoke to Finika Laka, principal of Phagameng High School in Modimolle.

 

Fiona Lekalakala has good reason to smile so brightly. She is one of the two top achievers of Phagameng High School in Modimolle. She obtained three distinctions. Her best subjects were Sepedi Home Language, English First Additional Language and Life Orientation.

 

“We are very happy with the results, as we achieved a 75% pass rate from the 168 learners in the class of 2020. Our learners achieved a total of 11 distinctions, with Fiona Lekalakala and Piet Mkase being the top students with each obtaining three distinctions,” she said.

Solomon Mahlangu High School in Phagameng Township in Modimolle celebrated their 80,2% pass rate.

Their class of 2020 comprised of 81 learners. The school’s top achiever was Amogelang Mmamabolo, who achieved a distinction in Business Studies.
