Local players selected for Limpopo team
The South Africa Bowls Inter District Championship is being held from Monday 8 to 12 March.
Ten districts will compete in the annual tournament. Each district has a total of 48 players divided into eight players per team for the respective men’s and ladies’ teams.
The A-teams will compete in Gauteng, the B-teams in KwaZulu-Natal and the Veteran-teams in the Eastern Cape.
The following players from Modimolle were selected for the Limpopo-district team: André Kruger and Anneke Thorpe will compete in the A-team, while Ernest du Plessis and Jerome Thorpe will compete in the Veteran-team.
As players are expected to pay for their own flights, transport and accommodation, they have created a raffle competition to raise funds.
