Two months and two weeks down the line Bela-Bela’s teenage girl Lesego Molelekoa (14) is still missing.

The BEAT contacted the police on Tuesday 17 March to check on progress into investigations around the matter.

Limpopo police spokesperson, Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, said the police launched a joint search operation following Molelekoa’s disappearance.

She was last seen by her family in Bela-Bela’s Extension 8 on 31 December.

Information received suggests the girl left home to visit her father on a smallholding along the R101 between Bela-Bela and Modimolle.

Ngoepe said investigators have already visited a number of her family members, and that investigations were moving forward.

The police are appealing to members of the community with any information that can assist to finding the girl to urgently contact Detective Sergeant Klaas Minyuku on 083 580 8414 or 014-736 9732, the Crime stop number
on 0860010111, or the nearest police station.

Meanwhile, in Thabazimbi the police are asking members of the community to help track down the whereabouts of the missing Nacie Mashia, who was last seen by her husband on Friday 6 March.

The police said the victim’s husband returned from work but she was nowhere to be found.

The police confirmed that the couple originates from Mozambique.
