Two hip-hop artists from Maope Secondary School aim to make it big in the music industry.

Thabo Mathe (aka Poppy Boy) and Thapelo Setshedi (aka 2-Point-5) were both born in Bela-Bela in 1999, and started following music in early 2000, while still in primary school.

The duo met while on the way from school and then joined the local B.Y.B (Blast Young Blood) Studios, working as their youngest artists, with Thabang Maluleka (aka Mac Cheezy) as the producer.

They parted ways as time went by and Mathe started producing his own music in 2018, as a regular performer at Coco’s (Dubai 2) Tavern between 2015 and 2016 on Sundays.

He also performed at Lerato’s, Bela-Bela Multi-purpose Centre, Sunvalley Sports Bar and Molofish Tarven in Tsakane.

He performed a track called R.I.P Tumelo during the Raeleng Secondary School bash in 2019, which was produced at his own studio, Misious Productions, featuring Simon Mathe (aka Tuza’ngwana).

Mathe and Malete impressed the audience while performing the song during Maope Secondary School’s Heritage Day event in 2019. They also performed it at the Seshego Community Hall in Polokwane also in 2019. Their music is available on YouTube.
