As soccer followers across the Limpopo province wait for the Nedbank Cup soccer derby with eager anticipation and excitement, both Baroka FC and Black Leopards management and players know that the stakes are high at this level of the tournament.

The Limpopo derby is scheduled for Peter Mokaba Stadium, on Saturday 14 March, with the two teams expected to square off in the quarterfinals.

It is a given, that one of the two teams will exit the tournament with R400 000 prizemoney after this match, and the winner will go into the semi-finals to secure a cool R1-million in prizemoney.

It could still be possible one of the two teams can go as far as reaching the ultimate finals and bag R2,5-million if they lose, or even better, take home first prize of R7-million.

Prior to the much anticipated match, which was scheduled to take place at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, Bidvest Wits was expected to visit Real Kings on Friday, 13 March.

In Ekurhuleni on Saturday, Highlands Park will host Mamelodi Sundowns at Makhulong Stadium.

As the reigning Nedbank Cup champions TS Galaxy have already exited the competition, the Mpumalanga soccer fraternity will be rallying behind TS Sporting as it takes on Bloemfontein Celtic at KaNyamazane Stadium.

The community of Mpumalanga will be hoping that the team fights tooth and nail, to ensure that the silverware remains in the province.
