Itireleng Secondary School from Rooiberg recently celebrated 15 years of its existence by honouring learners who achieved outstanding results in 2019.

Itireleng Secondary School from Rooiberg recently celebrated 15 years of its existence by honouring learners who achieved outstanding results in 2019.

The school held an awards ceremony to honour learners for their outstanding performances on Friday 21 February.

The event was held under the theme “In love with the future”, since February is known as the month of love.

The school principal, Ally Pole, said that the main objective of the theme was to encourage learners to love their education so that they can have a brighter future.

“We felt honoured to be graced by the presence of Professor Nishack Gumbo from UNISA, who was our motivational speaker for the day and the learners responded positively to his presentation. We also saw the need to extend our appreciation to the professor for being our partner for the academic development of our learners,” Pole said.

The school’s 2019 Best Achiever was Grade 12 learner, George Dibetso, while Matshediso Molapisi was runner-up and third position went to George Nkomo.

Grade 11 learner Mpho Molomo was the best achiever in her class, with Elizabeth Mmekwa the runner-up, Omphile Ncube obtained third position.

In Grade 9 Esther Mafora was the best achiever, Jerry Mphamo came second while Nthabiseng Nnoni took third position.

Sharon Mathibela was best achiever Grade 8, Kelebogile Moima the runner-up and position three went to Wendy Moima.
