Tough battles for the Modimolle-Mookgophong Music awards

The nominees for Modimolle-Mookgophong Music Awards have been announced, and it looks like the inaugural event will produce fireworks as the local talented artists are set to fight for the honours.

The nominees for Modimolle-Mookgophong Music Awards have been announced, and it looks like the inaugural event will produce fireworks as the local talented artists are set to fight for the honours.

In the category of Best Afro Pop/ R & B song, the Modimolle-based ensemble TRV was nominated for the recently released song “Gae Limpopo” (Limpopo my Home).

The Modimolle band is competing for this accolade with the likes of Mookgophong-born and bred artist, Baldwin Kay, who was nominated for the song “Naledi”, featuring Mahlatse Vokal & Ntsikwane
for this award.

Other artists in this category are SNXS DJ (Mookgophong), New WAV (Mookgophong), Betra (Mookgophong), Uncle Sam (Mookgophong and Bayor 97 of Modimolle.

Another one which will keep the local music lovers guessing until the big announcement is made, is the Best Gospel Artist category.

One among Shibu Molomo (Mookgophong), Tiisetso (Modimolle), Tau dia Rora (Mookgophong) and Sakie & Spiritual Boys will walk away with this accolade on the big day.

In the Song of the Year Category, the battle will be between Michael Angela by Diggy Mayers, Mine by Betra, On me by Pots, You never know by Cheezy Moscow featuring Diggy Mayers, Karishma by
Bayor 97, Naledi by Baldwin Kay, Gang Remix by Broly McKenzie, Madi a Jeso by Tiisetso, One Night by Lapkid featuring Betra and last Shuu by Lumicue featuring Bayor 97.
