Waterberg Men’s Regional League team Palala Giant Killers FC was expected to continue with its pursuit for a spot in the last 32 stages of the Nedbank Cup.

Giant Killers FC secured a place in the provincial leg of the tournament after winning all its fixtures during the regional play-offs, which were held at Mokopane’s Mahwelereng Stadium on
Saturday, 5 October.

The Lephalale-based team started off the day with 3-1 massive victory against Qualitho FC of Rapotokwane, then later defeated PJ Stars of Mokopane 2-1.

From the provincial leg of the Nedbank Cup, one team from the Waterberg Men’s Regional League will go on to do battle with the winner from the ABC Motsepe League.

This means Palala Giant Killers FC will have to work hard to outshine its opponents from all the other four regions, in order to remain in the competition.

The provincial competition was scheduled for Saturday, 19 October at a yet to be confirmed venue in the Vhembe region.

Last season Boyne Tigers FC of Limpopo advanced to the last 32 stages of the Nedbank Cup, but was sent packing early from the competition after succumbing 4-0 to Bidvest Wits FC.
