House breaking suspect breaks bail conditions

A housebreaking suspect had his bail revoked on Tuesday 10 September after he broke conditions the Bela-Bela Magistrate’s Court had attached to his release.

The court ruled that the suspect’s bail of R500 be revoked, and remain in custody after investigators linked him to an allegedly stolen TV set, while on bail.

At the time Collen Kabelo Simetsing (42) was out on bail facing charges of the alleged theft of motor vehicle wheels.

He was expected to appear again in court midweek.

Bela-Bela police communications officer, Sergeant Frans Maponya, said Simetsing was found red-handed in possession of a stolen Hi Sense TV set, at the time of his initial arrest.

The theft had been reported at the Bela-Bela police station by a local resident.
