The Waterberg District will welcome crowds from across the province as the host for this year’s Provincial Heritage Day Celebrations.

The Limpopo Provincial Government will join the rest of the country in celebrating the 2019 Heritage Day, under the theme “Celebrating South Africa’s literary classics in the year of indigenous
languages”.

The Limpopo Department of Sports, Arts and Culture and Office of the Premier will lead the celebrations.

As the melting pot of cultural diversity, the province will celebrate 2019 Heritage Day on Tuesday 24 September at the D’Nyala Game Reserve in Lephalale.

The Premier’s spokesperson, Kenny Mathivha, said government calls on all sectors to use the liberation heritage as a vehicle to foster social cohesion, nation building, economic development and
inclusive citizenship.

He added that the liberation heritage was forged in the theatre of struggle that shaped the new South Africa, and can be actively used to contribute to the revival of social and political
consciousness in the country.
