The Plant a Seed initiative founded by Modimolle-born and bred philanthropist and gospel artist, Rebecca Mokgosi, successfully delivered its promise, after sealing their 2019 School Uniform project on Thursday, 18 July.

The organisers strategically chose to deliver the school uniform on this day, in line with the national Mandela Day calendar.

Various stakeholders and non-profit organisations, Paul Dave Foundation, Given to Give Foundation, Modimolle Victim Support, Heaven’s Princess, Ministers Fraternal, Fitness for All and the SAPS
formed part of the event.

The initiative touched and made a difference in the lives of 120 learners at local primary schools.

A total of six schools were visited, with 20 learners (10 Boys and 10 Girls) each receiving school uniforms.

The schools which benefitted from the initiative were Dagbreek Primary School, Maokeng Primary School, Hector Peterson Primary School, Lekkerbreek Primary School, Modimolle Primary School and
Laerskool Doornfontein.

Mokgosi said they were hoping to reach more learners in the next phase of the project.

“This school uniforms drive will be a yearly project for the initiative, and we call upon all individuals, businesspeople, influential leaders and all members to join hands with us,” she said.

She said in the next phase of this initiative, they will also focus on other community uplifting projects.

“We take this wonderful opportunity to send sincere gratitude to our sponsors, donors, stakeholders, individuals, churches, businesses and influential leaders in our community for their
valuable contribution,” she said.

Mokgosi pleaded with those who want to participate in future community projects to contact the organisers on 063 234 8881/ 083 890 2562.
