Bela-Bela High School advances to provincial Sanlam Kay Motsepe Schools Cup

The Bela-Bela High School soccer team has advanced to the Limpopo leg of the R3-million Sanlam Kay Motsepe Schools’ Cup.

The Bela-Bela High School soccer team has advanced to the Limpopo leg of the R3-million Sanlam Kay Motsepe Schools’ Cup.

The boys qualified for the provincial leg after beating Tirelelo High School of Lephalale 4-2 on Saturday 20 July.

Bela-Bela High School also triumphed 9-1 over Lephadimisha High School of Mokopane.

The team will on Saturday 24 August play against other district representatives at Seshego Stadium.

Fixtures and other logistics are still to be finalised.

Bela-Bela High School was eliminated by Makhutjisha High School of Mookgophong 5-4 on penalties from the Sanlam Kay Motsepe Schools’ Cup last year.

Bela-Bela High School head coach, Sam Modise, said the boys are edging closer to their dream of reaching the highest levels of the Kay Motsepe Cup, a dream which has been deferred over the past
few years.

The winners from the provincial leg of the tournament stand to win prizemoney of R100 000.

The national winners of the Kay Motsepe Schools Cup walk away with R1-million , while the other three teams that finish in the top four will go home with R600 000(2nd place), R500 000(3rd) and R400 000 (4th).
