Municipal spokesperson, Kabelo Mosito, attributed the power supply disruptions to maintenance work by Eskom.
He said Eskom has been busy with maintenance work at the Municipal sub-station, which he said is the main conduit of power supply to the town.
Mosito said additional work on cables in the township were done, which also contributed to the interrupted supply of electricity.
Many of the smaller business outlets were forced to close shop for the duration of the power supply disruptions, due to a lack of back-up generators.
The Bela-Bela Local Municipality has since apologised for the inconvenience.
