A record 18 goals were scored in four matches at the play-offs, which served to decide the Waterberg champions.

It all started with the match between Modimolle Terrors FC and Benfica FC of Lephalale, where the Modimolle side thrashed its opponent 5-0.

The battle for promotion continued to produce more goals, when PJ Stars FC of Mokopane narrowly defeated Benfica FC 3-2 in a mouth-watering five-goal thriller.

Modimolle Terrors FC ultimately booked a spot in the provincial play-offs for promotion, by walloping Mokopane PJ Stars FC 5-0 in the final match of the day.

The runners-up from all three streams (Stream A, B and C) also had their own play-offs on the day, in order to fight for positions four to six in the region.

Stream C’s second-placed Palala Giant Killers FC did not participate in the play-offs, narrowing the battle to only two teams.

In the first match of the runners-up, Mookgophong Junior Stars (Stream A) won on walk-over against Palala Giant Killers FC (Stream C).

Mookgophong Junior Stars FC continued to beat Stream B’s Ditlou FC 2-1.

The result enabled the Mookgophong team to claim position four, with Ditlou FC and Palala Giant Killers FC settling for position five and six respectively.

In terms of prize-money, Modimolle Terrors FC will receive R13 500, with the second placed PJ Stars FC taking home R9 000.

The third positioned Benfica FC will receive R7 000.

Junior Stars FC will receive R5 000 in the fourth place, with Ditlou FC and Palala Giant Killers bagging R4 750 and R4 500 respectively.
