Several hundred youths belonging to the Roman Catholic Church from various parts of Limpopo are expected to converge on the place of worship in the township in Bela-Bela on the day.

A loose alliance of youth-interest groupings in Mookgophong have closed ranks to facilitate a day of fun in Mookgophong.

The event will kick off on Saturday 15 June with a 5 km fun run/walk, culminating in street soccer and indigenous games.

The events are spearheaded by the African Methodist Episcopal church, Fountain of Praise Tabernacle, in collaboration with Youth Development and the Dr Mathosa Foundation.

In the village of Katjibane, Modimolle athlete, the 13-times Comrades Marathon participant, Lucas Seleka, will facilitate a Youth Day Fun Run on Saturday 15 June.

Seleka said because of the inaugural nature of the event, the shorter 5 km fun run and walk will be on offer.

The main objective, he said, was to nudge the youth of Katjibane into a journey of self-discovery.

On the arts and culture circuit, deejays from Metro FM have been lined up for the official launch of Holalapho Pub ‘n Grill in the township in Bela-Bela.

Interestingly, the new venue is situated a stone’s throw from both Club Paradise and Chisanyama entertainment venue.
