The ANC in Limpopo has welcomed the elevation of incumbent Minister in the Office of the President, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, as Chancellor of the University of Limpopo.
The ANC in Limpopo has welcomed the elevation of incumbent Minister in the Office of the President, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, as Chancellor of the University of Limpopo.
The ANC said the appointment is “perfectly befitting” in that Dlamini-Zuma has proven herself capable during a career dating back two decades.
“She has served the masses of our country with dedication and distinction in various capacities, including being a long-serving NEC member of the ANC, being a (Cabinet) Minister in various portfolios, and ultimately as chairperson of the African Union Commission,” said ANC Provincial Secretary Soviet Lekganyane.
The University of Limpopo — previously known as Turfloop University — has produced many luminaries, among them the assassinated South African Students Organization slalwart, Abram Tiro.
Others on the alma mater list include the late former Minister in the Presidency Collins Chabane, Limpopo political heavyweights George and Joyce Mashamba, the former general-secretary of the
South African Council of Churches, the Reverend Frank Chikane, and Gauteng Premier David Makhura.
