Diesel n Dust wins Mayor’s Cup netball tournament

Bela-Bela Diesel ‘n Dust netball team beat Bela-Bela Black Birds 19-7 to lift the Mayor’s Cup netball leg of the annual tournament.

The matches were played on a round-robin system, with the Bela-Bela Diesel ‘n Dust ladies triumphant in terms of a better points tally over the rest of the teams.

The games were attended by Bela-Bela Mayor Jeremiah Ngobeni.

Four teams, namely Diesel n Dust, Shooting Stars, Multi-Purpose and Black Birds battled it out for the top prize.

Black Birds played three games, losing three and winning only one

Shooting Stars played three matches, winning all three, with Diesel ‘n Dust beating them on a better goal difference.

The winners were awarded medals and a trophy for the champions, Diesel ‘n Dust, while the runners-up received medals and a trophy.

Ngobeni thanked all role-players who made the tournament possible.
