Mr and Miss Primary School organisers plead for support

Following a successful hosting of the fifth annual Mr and Miss Primary School, pageant organiser Edward Masingi has asked for support from the local business community.

Masingi said events like these will only succeed if they receive maximum support from the business fraternity, as that will encourage more young people to participate.

He said the purpose of the event was to unleash potential in young learners between Grade 5 and Grade 7 at primary school level.

“The main aim is to prepare these learners for opportunities in the modelling and fashion industry, and other similar careers. We hope these activities will also help young learners to put their focus on positive things and avoid crime,” Masingi said.

The Miss Primary School category was won by Philippine Nkgodi from Modimolle Primary School, with Basetsana Mashaba and Mokgethwa settling for first and second princess titles.

Dimakatso Pilusa took the reigns as Mr Primary School, while Tokollo Mashaba and Fred Mpete won first prince and second prince prizes.

Nkateko Mathe was the viewer’s choice winner, while Solomon Monyeki and Matlakala Boshiane were chosen as Mr and Miss Personality.

Masingi thanked members of the community and parents for their continued support year in, year out.
