Tour de Limpopo happening in May

The Limpopo Province is for the second year running staging another mainstream sporting activity to raise the tourism profile of the home province.

Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) CEO, Nomasondo Ndlovu, said she had reason to believe The Tour de Limpopo cycling event had the potential to improve the province’s sports tourism profile.

The cycling event, which will take place weeks after the Limpopo Championship golfing tournament, is scheduled to be staged from Tuesday 14 May to Sunday 18 May.

Participants are scheduled to pedal off from Bela-Bela.

The event is being staged for the second year running in collaboration with Cycling South Africa.

The event offers participants the opportunity to be exposed to the province’s tourism potential, ranging from private game reserves, savannah plains and vineyards to the World Heritage Site in Mokopane.

The race will start in Bela-Bela, heading north to Polokwane, and then to Tzaneen.
