Changing the lives of learners

Modimolle-based Organisation Hands On, in partnership with Waterberg Hands of Hope, continued to make a positive difference in the lives of learners across the region, through the Back to school project.

Organisation Hands On chairperson, Ronnie Makgetha, said the aim of this project was to show that adding a little bit of goodness has the power to change the world for the better.

Schools which were visited this year included Laerskool Doornfontein (Vaalwater), Hector Petersen (Modimolle), Mokolo Primary School (Vaalwater), Lerskool Alma, Letamong Combined School
(Mookgophong, Mookgophong Primary School, Nkgakgaripa Primary School (Mokopane) and istores Primary School (Thabazimbi).

Makgetha said the first ‘Back to School Shoes Project’ last year was a resounding success.

“Not only did it help scholars who were most in need of school shoes, but it opened our eyes to the immense need for school shoes by so many vulnerable children and orphans in our
communities,” Makgetha said.

He said they could not allow the project to be a once-off thing, and therefore had to commit to spreading goodness on a continuous basis, by continuing to assist more vulnerable children and
orphans with school shoes for the second year running.

“We urge you to take part and donate school shoes to children in and around our community. For more information on how you can play your part, contact ronny@organisationhandson.org or 078 013 2150,” he pleaded.
