The SAPS in Modimolle paid Modimolle’s Solomon Mahlangu High School a visit on Friday, 25 January.

The visit was a proactive way of addressing important issues, and encouraging learners to lead exemplary lives.

Captain Mike Motadi said the aim was to encourage learners to focus on their studies, and to also enlighten them about careers that they can pursue in with the SAPS.

“The school has been experiencing challenges in the past, where the police had to intervene from time to time. It is a great thing that we are here today on a different mission. We
congratulate the class of 2018 for better results, and we believe they can do even better this year,” he said.

Captain Motadi said the SAPS wanted to ensure that schools remained a safe environment where learning and teaching take place without being hindered by criminal activities.

“We also brought individuals from various departments in the SAPS, to encourage learners that they can pursue careers of their choice within the organisation if they remain focused,” he explained.

The men and women in blue were led by the station commander, Colonel Michael Rasebeka.

Solomon Mahlangu High School principal Steven Majapholo said they collectively felt honoured as the school, to receive support from organisations such as the SAPS.

He also hailed the class of 2018, educators and all other role-players for ensuring that the school’s matric pass rate improves.

Majapholo said the school would strive for even better results this term.
