ANC adds its voice to improved results

The ANC in Limpopo has added its voice to the fact that the 2018 matric results were an improvement comparable to the previous year.

The ANC in Limpopo has added its voice to the fact that the 2018 matric results were an improvement comparable to the previous year.

The ANC statement was released against the backdrop of mainstream media perceptions that Limpopo came out bottom of the other provinces.

“The ANC welcomes the announcement of the 2018 matric results, and is impressed with the 3,8% improvement that has been recorded,” ANC provincial secretary, Soviet Lekganyane, said in a
statement.

He cautioned, however, that the ANC is concerned that, despite these notable improvements, Limpopo is still languishing at the bottom of the standings, as compared to other provinces in the
country.

Limpopo remains the only province that did not achieve above the 70% mark, he said.

“As we begin the 2019 academic year, the ANC would like to call upon members of civil society to take an interest in the education of their children. Stakeholder involvement remains a critical
component to the education of this country,” Lekganyane said.
