IEC final registration weekend looms large

The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has announced that Saturday 26 January and Sunday 27 January would be the final days for potential voters to register ahead of the general elections scheduled for the month May.

Voter registration stations across the Waterberg and elsewhere would open from 8am to 5pm.

There are a total of 25 voter registration stations across all wards in Bela-Bela alone.

At the time of going to print the IEC had promised to assist in identifying voter registration stations in other parts of the Waterberg region.

The voter registration stations in Bela-Bela are Warmbad Laerskool and NG Kerk Warmbad in ward one, Mmamakwa High School, Raeleng High School and Bela-Bela Community Hall (ward two), Albert Luthuli Primary School Section 5 Park (Tent), (ward three), Mathintha Primary School, Settlers High School, Extension 8, Antioch River Church, Toowoomba Hall and Roodekuil Cafe (ward 4).

The voter registration stations in ward five are Bela-Bela High School and New Jerusalem Church, while the voter registration stations for ward six are Thusanang Special School and the public
works hall.

Ward seven voter registration stations comprise of the township’s Multi-purpose centre, Emmerentia Geldennhuys, Bela-Bela Christian Church and Tsakane Creche.

registration stations comprimise of Kgobongwane Primary School, Rust De Winter SAPS Station and Bathopele School.

The voter registration stations for ward nine are Rietspruit Farm, Blaauwboschskuil School, Rhenosterkloof Primary School, Spa Park Primary School, Saamwerk General Dealer, Platrivier Café
and Peet Padstal.

The IEC has sent out a clarion call to potential voters to use the last weekend of January to check their status and register.
