14 suspects arrested for different crimes

Johannesburg Flying Squad members arrested 14 suspects for different crimes in different areas in Johannesburg and recovered one AK47 rifle with ammunition and five vehicles from November 20 to 23.

Among the 14 suspects arrested, five were arrested for possession of stolen property, four for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, one for possession of illegal ammunitions, two for possession of suspected stolen vehicles and two for possession of drugs.

Among the five vehicles recovered the following were recovered hijacked from their owners: a white Isuzu truck and grey Renault Clio.

A white Toyota Hilux, white Toyota Fortuner and green Peugeot were recovered stolen.

Johannesburg Flying Squad communication officer, Raymond Sambo said investigation continues in all cases.

“Working together with the community led to these recoveries. SAPS appreciates the public for their contribution.
“It should also be noted that any information regarding the vehicles, people may contact the relevant detective quoting the relevant case number.

“The suspects appeared in different magistrate’s courts facing charges of possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, possession of illegal ammunitions, possession of suspected stolen vehicles, possession of stolen property and possession of drugs,” he said.
