Biker killed after crashing into pole in Selby

A man in his 20s was killed when he lost control of his motorbike, crashing into a pole at the Eloff and La Rochelle intersection in Selby on September 22.

Russel Meiring, ER24 communications officer, said their paramedics arrived on scene at 1.35am to find the body of the biker lying in the middle of the road. The motorbike was lying a few metres away on the pavement.

“Medics quickly assessed the man and found he had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for him, and he was declared dead.

“The details surrounding this incident are not yet known, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations,” he said.
