JMPD arrests one and recover two hijacked vehicles
The suspect smelt strongly of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes and was unsteady on his feet.
The driver of a black Renault Megane was arrested for driving drunk and without any documentation on September 4 along Heidelberg Road near the N17.
Wayne Minnaar, JMPD spokesperson, said he was taken to Hillbrow Clinic where his blood was drawn by registered nurses. A breathalyser test was not done due to Covid-19, but the suspect smelt strongly of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes and was unsteady on his feet.
He was detained at Moffat View Police Station.
A hijacked Nissan bakkie was found abandoned by the JMPD K9 Unit in Alexandra on September 5, and was booked in at Aeroton Police Pound for verification.
A Datsun Go, another hijacked vehicle, was found abandoned near Cordelia Flats, Eldorado Park. It was booked in at Lenasia Police Pound for verification.
