At the age of six, Alwyn Oberholster discovered his passion for music and thus started his singing career.
After participating in numerous singing competitions and touring the “pub scene” extensively, Alwyn decided to enter a different market. In Beautiful Noise, Alwyn pays tribute to the legendary Neil Diamond and audiences will be able to enjoy well-known songs, such as Sweet Caroline, I Am, I Said, Kentucky Woman and, of course, Beautiful Noise.
Alwyn is popular and well-known among his fans for his brilliant performance of the older hits by singers such as Billy Joel, Neil Diamond, Allen Jackson, the Staccatos, the Bee Gees and many more, but Neil Diamond remains his favourite.
“I love Neil Diamond’s music and I know every song he ever wrote. And my voice fits the Neil Diamond songs like a glove. I’m not trying to sing like Neil Diamond, I give my own interpretation of the songs,” said Alwyn.
Beautiful Noise with Alwyn Oberholster will be broadcast live on June 28 at 5pm as one of Lefra’s Cellar Concerts.
