A Tented Safari Experience in Pilanesberg National Park

This affordable camp offers the opportunity to explore nature and discover unique fauna and flora, including the sought-after Big 5.

Located less than three hours away from the city of Johannesburg, close to the Manyane Gate of the Pilanesberg Game Reserve and a short drive away from the famed Sun City is the Tented Adventures Camp. Relatively small in size and positioned in a transitional zone, the wildlife sightings are exceptional.

This affordable camp offers the opportunity to explore nature and discover unique fauna and flora, including the sought-after Big 5.

The camp boasts eight rustic safari tents; each fitted with comfortable beds, luxurious linen, fans, electric blankets, charging points, large windows with mosquito netting and a small deck with camp chairs. The tents share a communal bathroom that is serviced daily.

The guest facilities include a large tented lounge and dining area, small deck and a fire pit. Guests also have full access to the facilities at Manyane Resort which includes a bar, restaurant, shop, spa and swimming pool.

Full English and continental breakfast buffets are included during one’s stay, as well as a bush braai at dinner.

Included during a stay at Tented Adventures Camp Pilanesberg are guided morning and afternoon game drives that are led by professional guides. These drives offer the opportunity

to get up-close with the Big 5 and other rare wildlife. Pilanesberg is a great place to see the endangered African wild dog and various rare antelope species.

There are also more than 350 species of birds, making it the perfect bird watching destination. Pilanesberg National Park has a total of six bird hides scattered around the park. The west-facing hide of Rathogo is a great place to photograph in the mornings, whilst the east-facing hides of Ruighoek and Malatse are great in the afternoons. The north-facing hides of Makorwane and Batlhako are better suited to low light photography on those cloudy days and the C-shaped Mankwe bird hide is great for photographing both the east and west.

Other activities on offer at the adjacent Manyane Resort include guided bush walks, spa treatments and hot air balloon rides. One can also visit the nearby cultural museums, heritage sites and the Sun City Resort.
