GALLERY: Celebrating at the Alberton Day Music Festival

It’s almost time for the Alberton Day Music Festival.

THIS year Alberton Day is spread over three days from October 4 to October 6 at the Alberton Rugby Club, Braun Avenue, Alberton.

The event is aimed at involving the entire community in the weekend’s activities. There will be food stalls, market stands, motor shows, beer gardens and a theme park with rides for children.

Friday will start with a great show featuring Timo ODV, Rayne and DJ Jomo Beats.

Saturday is a fun-filled day for the entire family. Great South African bands will entertain the crowd with artists such as

Theuns Jordaan, Karlien van Jaarveld, Nadine, Die Campbells, Springbok Band, Morné Lesley with a tribute to Elvis, The Giddies Show Band with lead singer Gerald Panaino, André uit die Heupe, Kobus with the Onesto Show en Armand as Young Zion.

Sunday will showcase Jo Black and Dirk van der Westhuizen with the Tommy Gloss Show, featuring Riaan Grabe, Shane, Renier, Jade, and Charlie B Denise Lourens.

Tickets are available online at Ticketpro and at the gates, which will open at 10am every day. Adult tickets are R100 per person per day. Under 18s and pensioners can enter for R50 per day. Pensioners please bring your pensioner’s card with. Children under 12 years can enter for free.

As part of the celebrations, Alberton Day have made donations to Child Welfare, donating R100 000 worth of tickets.

Alberton Day also supports the SPCA. Please visit the SPCA stall with any donations.

Futhermore, Alberton Day has also made a generous donation of R50 000 in support of Chi Nelri, who is in need of medical support.

Last year’s festival was held in May and was a great success, enjoyed by families across Alberton and the South of Johannesburg.
