21 AUDITIONS are now open for aspiring Cantare Children’s Choir members between the ages of nine and 16 years. With its 25th anniversary in 2020, the choir would like to give talented singers the opportunity to participate in an international event in Europe next year. 24 CELTIC Rock features the finest Irish sounds; combining elements of rock, traditional Irish pub songs, as well as folk and pop, all influenced by the exciting country of Ireland. Ireland – the small country off the Western coast of Europe – has succeeded in producing some of the most popular and acclaimed music of recent decades. NEW 24 THREE-KOPPIE group hike of up to 8km (three hours) through the Melville Koppies. Sets off 8.30 sharp. Park, meet and pay in the upper parking area at Marks Park, Judith Road, Emmarentia. Hikers must be fit with good balance as paths are rocky and steep. Children must be over six years old. Sorry, no dogs. Cost is R60 for adults and R40 for children. 25 IN association with the Cantare Children’s Choir, Dulcet Voices Choir invites children to develop their voices and musicality. Dulcet Voices Choir specifically focuses on children from Grade R to Grade Four, or ages six to 10. Lessons will take place at the Dutch Reformed Church Alberton South, corner of Phantom and Candican streets, Raceview, on Mondays from 5pm to 6pm. 6 AMCARE will be hosting a fund-raising event full of glitz and glamour on March 6 where attendees will be exposed to thrilling performances by the eminent group, Legends Live at the Barnyard Theatre Gold Reef City. NEW 8 STEPFAMILY enrichment course will provide practical, realistic solutions to issues that stepfamilies face. This course will help married, soon-to-be-married couples living together and dating couples with children from a previous relationship. It is presented by Ron L. Deal who is a world-leading expert in the field of stepfamily enrichment and is facilitated by members of the Alberton Methodist Church who have successfully raised stepchildren. The course will be hosted at Alberton Methodist Church, every Wednesday from May 8 to June 19 from 7pm to 9pm.
