Modern twist circus

The show combines all the elements of Circus that family audiences have loved for generations, but now with a modern twist.

AFTER a brief pause while awaiting the arrival of the remaining international acts, Weber Brothers Entertainment and Matthew Cook are delighted to announce that Splash! Circus is back on stage at The Globe at Silverstar Casino, with performances continuing from September 7 to September 17.

Originating in Russia, Splash! Circus is a circus concept that has become popular over the last 19 years. The show combines all the elements of Circus that family audiences have loved for generations, but now with a modern twist.

The first half of the show is presented in a circus ring environment allowing traditional acts needing a larger space to perform and making full use of the circus ring. Added to the traditional setting is the use of video projections and lasers, offering a new twist to the traditional circus.

Amongst other acts, included in the first act of the show is also the fun and entertaining antics of a sixth generation clown from Mexico, Mingo. Mingo has a lively and interactive rapport with the family audiences and his acts involve lots of participation and engagement that the children especially love.

Duo Polonsky, who are identical twins from Ukraine, present their hand balance and strength act which has been seen all over the world, has been presented on the stage of Cirque du Soleil and who never cease to amaze the audiences that watch them.

The second act of the show unveils a 10-metre pool, having transformed from the stage during the interval, with fountains where the artists perform around a setting that offers a distinctive twist to the regular circus setting.

The aerial acts performing above the water and at times surrounded by falling rain are enhanced by the dazzling laser display and video projections.

These aerial acts include the spanish rope, aerial hammock and Lira – all of which are circus favourites and will have onlookers gasp in amazement.

From France, Albert Roubard also presents his statue act that comprises of elements of magic and mime, bringing these forms of performance to Splash.

Allan Sulc, a juggler from the Czech Republic, mesmerizes audiences with his incredible talent as he juggles up to eight balls at once.

The audience is left spellbound at the finale as the incredible Espanas from Brazil perform the death-defying wheel of death where they spin 10m above the audience while running on the outer-side of the wheel and attempt to do this whilst skipping and while blindfolded.

All this and more …
