Create your perfect combo

Make your trip to Johannesburg that extra bit special and personalise your itinerary by taking the Joburg and Soweto tour, which allows you to explore Vilakazi Street in Soweto. This is the only street in the world that was home to two Nobel Peace Prize winners: Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu.

Don’t stress yourself by trying to fit in as many destinations as you can on your travels. Buy a 48-hour ticket to travel at a slow pace and you’ll get 30 per cent off the price.

Hop off at the Mining District – bus stop 10 – to see the South African Chamber of Mines, or at bus stop 11 to visit the tallest office building in South Africa, the Carlton Centre.

Perks

When you purchase your hop-on/hop-off tour ticket, you’re entitled to a free walking tour all around the heart of the city centre. The tour kicks off at the Johannesburg Park Station at either 10.30am or 1pm. On the way you’ll learn more about the historical buildings and landmarks you’ll pass on the way. You can even do the Braamfontein tour for free. Meet at the Johannesburg Park Station again at 3.30pm.

In Braamfontein you’ll get a taste of the rich selection of street art in the area and find out how it has turned into a trendy hub over the past 10 years, with cafés, restaurants, a food market and a growing nightlife scene.

The Historical City Centre Tour takes you through the city’s busy streets, where you’ll come across landmarks such as the Church Street food market, Rissik Street post office, the old city hall, Johannesburg City Library and Chancellor House. Don’t miss the complimentary shuttle bus from Sandton and Melrose Arch to the new main departure point at Rosebank.
