Currie Cup comes to Alberton

The game of the weekend, between the Lions and Blue Bulls, will kick off at 15:00 at A-Square Forklift Alberton Rugby Club.

THERE is only one place to be on April 23 and that is A-Square Forklift Alberton Rugby Club, when the Xerox Golden Lions and Vodacom Blue Bulls will tackle each other in a Currie Cup match.

To get you into the spirit of things, rugby kicks off on Friday, April 22, from 18:15, when the A-Square Forklift Alberton and Union teams will battle it out.

Kick-off time for the u.20 and u.21 teams is at 18:15 on the B fields, the third teams at 19:40 on the A field and the second teams at 21:00 on the A field.

The game of the weekend, between the Lions and Blue Bulls, will kick off at 15:00 on Saturday, April 23, followed by the first team clash between A-Square Forklift Alberton and Union at 17:15.

Other games scheduled for the Rugby Day on April 23 are:

*A field: Lions u.12A vs Lions u.12 XV at 10:00 to 10:50;

*Lions u.13A vs Lions u.13 XV at 11:00 to 11:50;

*Lions Golden Oldies vs Alberton Madalas at 12:00 to 13:00.

But there is more in store for rugby fans.

The coveted Currie Cup will be on display in the Caxton South media tent, and it is only here where you can have your photograph taken with the trophy. So pop in, come and introduce yourself and make use of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Entrance to the game is R20 per vehicle or R10 per adult. Scholars enter for free.
