*Support Paws in Motion on the corner of Du Plessis and Second Avenue on Saturdays, between 10:00 and 13:00, when they sell boerewors rolls for R25 each. Funds raised go towards their pet rescue fund which helps sick and injured strays that find their way into the organisation’s care.

*Tough Love Alberton Suport Group is a support group for families being torn apart by unacceptable behaviour (drugs, alcohol, substance abuse, verbal or physical abuse). Tuesdays 19:00 to 21:00. Contact John on 072 341 5455 and Debbie on 082 330 1378.

*Walkerville Farmer’s Market is open every Saturday from 09:00 to 15:00. In addition to our usual extensive range of home-made cakes, jams, hand-made mosaics, home accessories, pet accessories, plants, fresh vegetables and honey, we have a free honesty library, pony rides, face painting and more. Delicious meals are available from our various food court outlets. Credit card facilities, free entrance and free parking available. The market is at 112 Main Street, Walkerville (on the R82 between Southgate and Vereeniging, just off the four-way stop in Walkerville). *Country Crafters will be at 101 Klipriver Drive Mulbarton from Saturday, January 30, from 09:00 to 14:30. A number of new crafters will be joining the happy band of creative people so come and see what is on offer. The crafters have all been very busy during the holiday period making new and different items. In future, they will be at 101 Klipriver Drive on the first, third and last Saturday of each month. *Country Night Markets from February 5 at Lido Hotel. Free entry. From 18:00 till 22:00. For more information email admin@lidohotel.co.za or contact 082 349 9924. Stall holders can book their stands now. Other dates to remember are March 4 and April 1 which will include an Easter hunt for the little ones.
