Lions’ Boshoff out for rest of Currie Cup season

Xerox Golden Lions flyhalf Marnitz boshoff will be out of the Currie Cup season.

Xerox Golden Lions team will have to do without flyhalf Marnitz Boshoff for the rest of their Currie Cup season.

Boshoff sustained an injury on Saturday against Vodacom Blue Bulls in the very first match of the season. He has fractured his right arm and will be out of action for up to 12 weeks. He underwent surgery on Monday morning.

Xerox Golden Lions medical team have released a medical update, following Saturday’s 41-13 victory over the Vodacom Blue Bulls at Ellis Park.

Unfortunately, both Anthony Volmink (shoulder) and Lloyd Greeff (knee) are also expected to be out of action for the remainder of the ABSA Currie Cup tournament.

Other members of the Xerox Golden Lions backline Alwyn Hollenbach (shoulder), Michael Bondesio (knee), Courtnall Skosan (cheek bone) and Deon van Rensburg (ribs) are all recovering well and expected to return to action in the upcoming weeks.

Meanwhile, in the forwards, Julian Redelinghuys (calf) is also expected to be available for selection again shortly. Further updates will follow.
