Midnight screenings of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire at selecte Ster-Kinekor Cinemas

JOHANNESBRUG – A special midnight screening of the much-anticipated sequel to the first Hunger Games film, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, is taking place at select Ster-Kinekor cinemas around the country as the clock strikes midnight on Thursday November 21. By attending one of the screenings that start at the bewitching hour of 00:01 on November 21, you will be among the first people to see the film before its general release later that day.

You can catch the one-minute-past-midnight screenings at the following sites: Sandton, The Zone, Cresta, Greenstone and Eastgate. You need to arrive at the cinema and be seated by 23:45 on Wednesday November 20, in anticipation of the bewitching hour when the film will roll!

In The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the entire arena sequence in the film, as an example, has been specially formatted for IMAX® and will fill the entire screen in spectacular fashion. This is as a result of key action sequences in this scene being captured with IMAX’s extremely high-resolution cameras to deliver greater scope and breathtaking image quality.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire picks up where The Hunger Games ended. Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) has returned home safely, after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson). However, their victory means that they must leave their family and close friends, and embark on a ‘Victor’s Tour’ of the districts. Along the way, Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering. However, the Capitol maintains it is still very much in control as President Snow prepares for the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

The film carries a 10 to 12 PGV and runs for two hours 26 minutes.
