Female boxing champs dominate in the ring
Alberton Boxing Club’s duo was the centre of attention during a recent boxing tourney, where they walked away victorious after impressive bouts.
Alberton Boxing Club’s Karien Els and Kiara Kilfoil, rising stars from the Florentia Club, recently took to the ring in Proclamation Hill during a Women’s Day boxing tournament.
Els bagged an impressive win in her weight division (54kg), and Kilfoil was runner-up in her weight division (64 kg).
The club congratulated these boxers for making Alberton Boxing Club proud of their well-deserved wins. They both scooped trophies after their impressive feat.
Coach Gert de Klerk from the club said: “We are very proud of the ladies for making it through during the tournament.
“Additionally, they will both participate in the SA championships in September. These are our best female fighters at the club.”
