MOTH Savannah charity bowls yields great results

Moth Savannah raised more than R26 000 with a bowls day.

MOTH Savannah Shellhole had their second fun charity bowls day on June 16, hosted by Alberton Bowling Club, to raise funds for MOTH charities on the East and West Rand.

The charities are mostly retirement villages that look after elderly war veterans who have fallen on hard times, many of them trying to survive on the older person grant.

Andy Boden of MOTH Savannah Shellhole said, “We would like to thank Alberton Bowling Club, not only for the friendly hospitality for four months while we planned the day, but also for their advice and assistance throughout the planning process.”

At the end of the bowls day, Moth Savannah raised more than R26 000, which they will donate before the end of June 2023.

“We would also like to thank all the players and friends who supported us on the 16th, as well as the many sponsors who donated prizes and cash. Without your help, this day would not have been a success.”

Boden congratulated the winners, a team from Brackenhurst Bowling Club.
