Rietvlei trails, Rietvlei Zoo Farm enjoying the extended hours

Rietvlei trails and Rietvlei Zoo Farm are enjoying the extended hours under lockdown Level 3 since re-opening in June.

Many new visitors came to Rietvlei trails, as well as the regulars from the local communities in the Southern Suburbs and Alberton.

Rietvlei trails staff have been working hard to upgrade, maintain and improve the trails, to ensure the continued offering of great running, walking, hiking and MTB experiences at Rietvlei Zoo Farm.

In the light of the restrictions imposed relating the Covid-19 pandemic, Rietvlei trails has implemented a registration station that uses a digital platform for you to register, accept the rules and indemnity, take your temperature, and sanitise your hands, before entering the premises.

These strict procedures are necessary to comply with and monitor the strict safety Covid-19 regulations. Dogs on leads are allowed. Everyone must wear a mask or buff at all times.

For the winter months July and August, Rietvlei trail access cards are available at R150 for 10 entries, aiming to make it more affordable for visitors. Unfortunately, the Rietvlei Picnic Park is still closed until Level 1, as well as Rietvlei Parkrun.

However, Calco Café, Ola Shop, Chip n Dip and the Continental Sweets Tuckshop are open at Rietvlei Zoo Farm for take-aways. Should you have any queries, please contact Rietvlei Zoo Farm.
