Betway SA donates R2-million towards fight against Covid-19

Betway SA has committed to contributing to the fight against Covid-19.

The Covid-19 pandemic is having a massive impact on the lives of everyone in our communities, and as lockdown continues so does the effort to win the battle against the virus.

“We are working in solidarity with the communities that we operate in, and across a number of different charitable organisations to help fight the Covid-19 pandemic and its related challenges,” said Betway SA marketing manager David Rachidi.

An R2-million donation from Betway was made on April 10.

Betway SA has done tremendous work in the underprivileged communities, creating opportunities for them to play soccer, handing out soccer gear and upgrading the schools’ soccer fields.

The donation will be used to support national food relief efforts and the delivery of vital supplies that may be needed by the beneficiaries to continue to function normally while managing the impact of the outbreak.

“Betway SA would also like to mention that with restrictions on work and travel, many are spending more time at home. However, extra time shouldn’t mean extra spend. This challenging period has given the community an opportunity to come together and make a difference,” said Rachidi.

Beneficiaries of the R2-m from Betway SA are Afrika Tikkun, Feed SA, Ladles of Love, ACFS, Angel Network, Angels Care Centre, Shout SA, Tears Foundation, Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club, Rhulani Mabasa Children’s Foundation, Ethembeni Children’s Home, Karabo Ya Pelo Entle, Soweto Home for the Aged, New Jerusalem Children’s Home, Woodside Sanctuary, Homeless Shelter, New Beginnings and Dog Town.
