Southern riders excel at nationals

Penbritte Equestrian riders did well at nationals.

MEMBERS of the Penbritte Equestrian Centre have done exceptionally well at the recently held South African National Equestrian Association (SANESA).

Penbritte riders competed against the best riders in the country during the competition.

Gauteng had 8 971 jumping rounds for the top 12 Gauteng to go through to nationals.

Courtney Sequeria received a first and second in the 90cm jumping rounds at nationals.

She is also currently ranked fifth in the country at SA showjumping.

Mikaela Martin received a first, second, fourth and seventh for two years in a row and is also the defending SA champion for affiliated Pony Rider Classes.

Mikaela is also ranked number one, three and seventh in the country at SA showjumping.

Leigh-Ann Hayes also received a first place and is currently ranked fourth in the country at SA showjumping.

Mieshca Hammond was in the top 10 Ekurhuleni riders and is lying second in 90cm SA showjumping records.

Thabang Mhlangu received a second place and Evane Liebernburg was crowned Victor Ludorum for working hunter for Ekurhuleni.

Jayley Rutenburg and Mikaela Martin received first, second, third and seventh while Leigh-Ann Hayes received a first.

Penbritte riders who were placed first and second are: Courtney Sequeria, Mikaela Martin, Leigh-Ann Hayes and Thabang Mhlangu.

Almarie Stoltz is lying 10th in the 1m SA showjumping rankings, Courtney Sequeira came first and second and is lying fifth in the country at SA showjumping.

Sebastian Pandelaere is lying sixth in the SA showjumping rankings, Kaitlyn Oliver is first in the country with SA showjumping while Mila Sunjich is lying 13th in the SA showjumping rankings.
