Chiefs’ face-off with Sundowns in October

LOCAL Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Kaizer Chiefs will once again have a face-off with top team Mamelodi Sundowns when the 2019 Shell Helix Ultra Cup returns to FNB in October.

The tournament rights holder, Stadium Management South Africa (SMSA) Tournament Pty (Ltd), and title sponsor, Shell Downstream South Africa (Pty) Ltd, announced that the Shell Helix Ultra Cup will be held on October 12.

The Shell Helix Ultra Cup is a showcase of one of the best rivalries that South African football has to offer, the never-ending battle between Amakhosi and Masandawana.

The inaugural event in 2018 saw Sundowns claim bragging rights by lifting the cup. This year Kaizer Chiefs will hope to claim the cup at their home stadium, while Sundowns will aim to successfully defend their crown. The Shell Helix Ultra Cup celebrates that these two teams and their fans bring ultra-footballing performance to the field, to the stands and to everyday conversations every time they get together.
