THE East Rand Classic cycle race will take place on April 4 and 5, 2020, in Kempton Park. In addition to the road race, a mountain bike event will also be catered for.
The events have traditionally been held at the end of April, but ASG Events chief executive Erick Oosthuizen said the new dates would suit them better.
“It is nicely situated between the Cape Town Cycle Tour on March 8 and Tour Durban on April 27, so we believe there will be plenty of incentive for cyclists to enter the Classic,” he said.
The programme will kick off with the mountain bike races of 50km and 25km on the Saturday. The 50km will start at 8am, followed by the 25km at 8.15am.
On Sunday, the 98km cycle race will get under way at 6.15am, followed by the 45km race at 7.50am.
