COPA finals to be a do-or-die affair

The battle lines for the 2018 COPA Coca-Cola national finals have been drawn.

The battle lines for the 2018 COPA Coca-Cola national finals were officially drawn on September 26 when the South African School’s Football Association, SASFA, in close partnership with proud sponsors, Coca-Cola, conducted the official draw of the tournament.

The 2018 edition of the COPA Coca-Cola National Finals is set to take place at the Wolfson Stadium in Port Elizabeth from September 27 to 29, and just as in previous years, the tournament promises to be an action-filled football affair.

After travelling to all nine provinces, the globally acclaimed school’s football tournament has finally reached its final stage where the nine schools representing their respective provinces will battle it out to be crowned 2018 COPA Coca-Cola champions.

The draw conducted on Wednesday evening saw the two-time defending champions from Gauteng, Clapham High School, pitted against Bela Bela High School (Limpopo), Ikekeletso Secondary School (Northern Cape), KI Thwala Secondary School (Mpumalanga) and Kuyakhanya Secondary from the Western Cape in Group A.

Group B of the competition which has been dubbed as the “group of death”, sees KwaZulu-Natal’s Glenwood High School facing stiff competition from North West’s Seiphemelo Secondary School, Malcomess Secondary School from the Eastern Cape and Free State champions, Moroka High School.
